Sam headed towards the tailor's shop and, deciding to take a leaf out of Nick’s book, broke the window and took a bowlers hat, placing a voucher in its spot.

He started trotting back to his team’s home, admiring his new hat.  Suddenly he stopped next to the fountain; he could swear he saw something out of the corner of his eye.  Upon closer inspection, he saw a colour other than the icy blue of the Kyurem sculpture; in fact, there was a body resting atop it.

Sam recognized who it was – it was Slim, of the MoHo Moondogs.

The Scraggy was lying on his stomach, his head propped up against the Kyurem’s neck.  His limbs and tail dangled as he lay limp in a seemingly uncomfortable position.

“...Hey,” the Houndour climbed up onto the fountain and started to poke Slim’s face.  “You’re not dead, are ya?”

Slim’s eyes suddenly snapped open, “Huh?  What?” he looked around frantically before turning to Sam.  “Sammy?  Is that really you?”

The Houndour simply frowned at him apathetically, “Did you get hit in the head or something?  If you came here the same way Violet did, then you’re probably in the right time.  However that works” he shrugged as Slim made his way off the fountain.

“Great!  Now if you’ll excuse me, I got a team to reunite with!”  And with that he darted away, towards the fields where some teams still lived in their makeshift houses.

Sam, too, turned tail and headed, in silence, back to Creeping Forest.

The Sun shone dimly over the horizon by the time Slim reached the rock that covered the entrance to his team’s home.  As he got closer, he saw someone at their mailbox, putting something in it.  The unidentifiable figure then dashed off, unaware of the Scraggy’s return.

Slim peered into the mailbox and pulled out an envelope, titled ‘THE MOHO MOONDAWGS’.  He instantly recognized his handwriting, realizing he was holding the letter he wrote to them while in the past.  Tucking the letter under his arm, he pushed the rock to uncover a hole leading underground, climbed down and pushed the rock to cover the hole from above.

As expected, the place was near pitch-black; all he could do was feel his way around, and find a source of light.  He eventually found a candle and a matchbox on a table, and lit it with one of the matches.  The flame illuminated the room partially, enough to see where things were.

“Mmm...eh...?”

Slim turned around to see Sarge, splayed out on the couch, waking up.  He sat up, and squinted at the Scraggy with uncertainty.  Once it hit him, he suddenly jolted awake and swooped forward to give his friend a hug.  “SLIM!!  Where ‘ave ya been man!?”

Slim staggered backward from the tackle, “Dude, I missed you too!  I’ll explain—“

Just then one of the doors opened, and out walked Vector, using Thunder Fang as a makeshift light.  His eyes widened in confusion and disbelief, as he recognized the Scraggy standing before him.  He snapped his fangs to stop the electricity, and stepped forward softly.  “...Slim?”

“Vector!!!” Slim, with Sarge still clinging to him, gave the Krokorok a big hug, squeezing his torso.  “I’m so glad to see you!”

“Dude, you’re killing me!” Vector, despite feeling like his ribs were breaking, had a huge grin on his face.  After separating, he asked “So how on earth did you get back?”

Slim, still smiling like a goof, “It’s a long story, I’ll tell you later.  Oh, before I forget—“ he conjured up his letter, “—I believe this is for you?”

Vector took the letter and gazed down at it, “Huh, I guess someone found our letter then?  I’ll be sure to read this later” he put the envelope down on the table, and then turned and headed back into the bedroom.  “I’m tired, but I’d love to hear about your story tomorrow.”

“Yeah,” Slim yawned, following Vector; they both slept in the same room.

“G’nigh’!” Sarge stumbled back onto the couch, where he usually slept, putting out the candle along the way.  And just like that, the room fell into pitch-black silence.

Slim lay on his back, snoring loudly.  Vector, however, remained awake in his hammock.  He pulled out the letter from Slim and, using Thunder Fang to create light, proceeded to read it:

Dear Vector, how goes it?
Hope you and Sarge are doing alright.
I’m doing fine myself
Man this is weird eh?
So, from what I can gather, some of us
were sent back in time by Jasmine when
she exploded.

Don’t know how log long I’ll be away for.
Should somt something happen to me, know that
I’ll never forget you, and what you’ve dun done for me.
If it weren’t for you, I’d be back in Moxtown,
probably dead.

Thanks for being such a great friend,
couldn’t have done it without you!

Yours truly~
Slim

Vector snapped his jaw shut, and remained silent.  He smiled at the piece of paper, a single tear running down the side of his face.  He then tucked the parchment underneath the end table next to him before laying back down and contently falling asleep.
